Grant started writing and performing music in his late teens with songs he, his brother, and father have written. Along with a strong influence from country stars of the 60’s such as Buck Owens, George Jones, and Faron Young, Grants’ music has a fresh down-to-earth sound that makes you want to get up and dance.
A chance meeting between Johnny Fay and Grant at Curries Music Studio in Gravenhurst in June of 2014 was the catalyst to the birth of Hired Gun as a band. A mutual friendship developed and with the addition of Grants’ son Blake to sing harmony vocals, Johnny on drums, and the Currie brothers, Andrew and Rob, on bass and electric guitar, Hired Gun was born.
