The members of the band are bed rocked in a common bond of their love of the rough and ready, boisterous blues and R&B of the 40’s and 50’s. In that same tradition – and somewhat likened to Roy Milton – the jump blues drummer / singer of that era – Lindsay Beaver leads The Wailers: Mike Archer (bass), Jesse Whiteley (keys), Jon Wong (sax), and newest member – replacing Emily Burgess – St. Louis native Elliott Sowell (guitar).
Here, as the time keeper of the unit, Lindsay directs the action – kicking the band hard or making it mellow, as the number dictates. And, no matter the course taken, one thing is sure – it always swings naturally.
